REDP stands for Roads Enterprise Development Programme. The Coega Development Corporation (Pty) Ltd (CDC) was appointed by the Eastern Cape Department of Roads and Public Works (DRPW) to assist in rolling out the Roads Enterprise Development Programme (REDP) under the department’s Roads Capacity Development Programme in all the nine district municipality areas of the Eastern Cape Province.
Who should benefit from the REDP?
Currently, the beneficiaries of the REDP project are those who responded to the Expression of Interest (EOI) that was advertised in August 2010 and were successful in their applications.
How do you access opportunities on the REDP?
A group of six entities per district is randomly selected from the CDC’s Small Enterprise Development (SED) system to tender as and when opportunities become available.
Why implement the REDP?
REDP is an initiative to address small enterprise development in the Eastern Cape Province. The REDP is a three-year enterprise development project targeting Contractors, Material Suppliers, Quarry Operators, Plant Hires, Consultants and Mechanics on road infrastructure construction and maintenance in the province.

The benefits derived from the REDP project will ensure the delivery of local socio-economic development throughout the Eastern Cape Province. Some of the benefits realised are:
